Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: increased muscle strength after drink containing carbohydrate intake measured by dinamometer in order to obtain a beta error of 80% and a 5% alpha error is estimated that would be a reduction in the muscle strength of 50% in the control group.;Found outcome: significant increase in muscle strength in the intervention group compared to the control group (p=0,01) after drink containing carbohydrate intake by the intervention group.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: measurement of muscle strength in three stages, six hours before the operation, one hour before the procedure and postoperative periods up to twelve hours after the surgical procedure, both in the group who receveid the drink containing carbohydrate and in the control group who received no drink.;Found outcome: increase in muscle strength measured in the intervention group individuals compaired to the control group in the times of six hours before the operation (p=0,04), one hour before the procedure and in the postoperative of these individuals (p=0,01).
