Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 100 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The sample eligible for the study will consist of volunteers with a previous diagnosis of COPD; both genders; GOLD I or II; clinical stability; no signs of exacerbation in the eight weeks prior to the study; capable of performing bicycle exercise testing; sign the Informed Consent Form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with associated diseases that may compromise exercise performance; use of oxygen therapy; SpO2 less than 85% at rest in ambient air; receiving chronic or eventual nitrate therapy

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in respiratory mechanics, evaluated by the inclination of the VE/VCO2 ratio during the cardiopulmonary exercise test.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Different EEV assessment metrics: slope of the VE/VCO2NADIR and VE/VCO2 ratio at the peak of the exercise; ;Operative pulmonary volumes and respiratory mechanics during exercise: inspiratory capacity (IC), IC / tidal volume (TV), IC / vital capacity (% predicted), inspiratory reserve volume, final inspiratory lung volume / total lung capacity (TLC);;Dyspnea, tolerance and peak exercise load.;Control the responses obtained with the use of sildenafil according to the presence of airflow limitation during ventilation at tidal volume at rest by the technique of negative expiratory pressure (NEP).
