Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Study group: women of reproductive age with chronic pelvic pain; Control group: apparently healthy reproductive age women.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant women; physically active in competitive level; malignancies, dyspareunia and/or isolated dysmenorrhea

Expected outcome 1: healthy women: at least 20% of increase of pain thresholds measured by algometry after exercise;Observed outcome 1: healthy women: 30% of increase of pain thresholds measured by algometry at weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the time immediately after and 10 minutes after the intervention: immediately after exercise (p <.0001, p <.0001, p <.0001, p <.0001, respectively); 10 minutes after exercise (p = .004, p = .001, p <.001, p <.001, respectively) and 20 minutes after exercise (p = .048, p = .034, .113, p = .338, respectively).;Expected outcome 2: chronic pelvic pain women: at least 20% of increase of pain thresholds measured by algometry after exercise;Observed outcome 2: chronic pelvic pain women: 15% of reduction in pain pressure thresholds measured in week 1 immediately after exercise, but not in weeks 2, 3, and 4: Immediately after physical exercise (p=.002, p=.131, p=.113, p=.705, respectively); 10 minutes after physical exercise (p=.573, p=.467 ,p=.176 ,p.774, respectively) and 20 minutes after physical exercise (p=.189, p=.848, .491, p=.774, respectively).

Comparing with the measurement immediately before exercise in each week, respectively: immediately after exercise (p = <.0001, p <.0001, p = .113, p <.0001, respectively); 10 minutes after exercise (p = .038, p = .009, p = .066, p = .005, respectively) and 20 minutes after exercise (p = .364, p = .352, p = .846, p = .960, respectively ).;Expected outcome 3: healthy women: at least 10% of increase of blood pressure measured by esfigmomanometry after exercise;Observed outcome 3: chronic pelvic pain women: 18% of increase in blood pressure following pain thresholds measured immediately and 10 minutes after the exercise in all weeks, but without significative differences in the other times.
