Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women at any gestational age; mothers aged 18 years or older; children up to 6 years of age of both sexes; good general health; smartphone with internet access

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Mothers without a smartphone with internet access; mothers under 18 years of age; children older than 6 years; mothers with complete upper and lower dentures; mothers with fixed orthodontic appliances; mothers with learning difficulties

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected an improvement in participants’ oral health literacy level, assessed through validated instruments (BOHLAT-P and OHL-AQ), by comparing scores between baseline (T0) and the different follow-up moments (T1, T2, and T3).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
An improvement in the oral health-related quality of life of mothers and children is expected. It will be assessed using the validated questionnaires OHIP-14 (mothers) and SOHO-5 (children/parents).;A reduction in dental biofilm accumulation is expected. It will be measured by the Visible Plaque Index (VPI).;A decrease in gingival bleeding is expected. It will be assessed by the Gingival Bleeding Index (GBI).;A lower prevalence and/or severity of dental caries lesions is expected. It will be assessed by the dmft and DMFT indices, including the detection of initial caries lesions.;High satisfaction and acceptance of the mobile application are expected. It will be measured using a 5-point Likert scale and the System Usability Scale (SUS).;Contextual factors associated with primary and secondary outcomes are expected to be identified. Socioeconomic, demographic, and dental history information will be collected through a structured questionnaire.
