Age
72 Hours to 6 Months

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Neonates and infants hospitalized at the Neonatal Semi-Intensive Therapy Unit; with a life time of at least 72 hours, 1,250 grams; up to 6 months of age; which are parents or guardians agree to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: clinically unstable preterm infants; contraindications to the immersion bath; new borns weighing less than 1,250 kg; infants who present temperature changes; need for ventilatory support; infectious process; neurological problems; facial congenital malformations

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Neonatal pain assessed by the Neonatal Infant Pain Scale (NIPS) score (from zero to 7) will show a 3-point reduction after the intervention. Before the intervention will be 3 points and after will be zero.
