Conditions

Normal labor

Interventions

Fifteen pregnant women, 18 to 40 years old, participated in the study. Parturients were randomly divided into two groups: conventional TENS group (GTC n = 9) and heated thermal bag group (GBT n = 8).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Check the profile of the parturients through the evaluation form (primiparous or multiparous) gestational age, signs of labor (broken or whole bag), contractions (weak, medium and strong), dilatation, general status, prenatal care whether or not it was performed, and intercurrences during pregnancy, using the Microsoft Excel program for data analysis using simple statistics with percentage values; To verify the effects of TENS and the heated thermal bag in reducing pain in the first stage of normal labor through the Visual / Numerical Verbal Scale of Pain, composed of a horizontal numbered line with the following indications: (0) zero Pain ", one to three (1 to 3)" mild pain ", four to six (4 to 6)" moderate pain "and seven to ten (7 to 10)" severe pain "classifying the pain in they change from zero to ten according to the intensity of parturients sensation, obtaining a numerical classification analyzed by the parametric statistical tests ANOVA post hoc of bonferroni and nonparametric of Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney (Wilcoxon Rank-Sum Test) through paired observations and (independent), respectively, with significance level of p menor ou igual 0,05
