Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Glycemia will be determined by the enzymatic colorimetric method using the System Vitros Chemistry 950 Xrl automatic analyzer (Johnson & Johnson). The supplemented group is expected to show a reduction in blood glucose increase. The concentrations of LPS and LBP will be quantified from specific kits for use in ELISA microplate reader. A reduction in LPS and LBP concentrations in the supplemented group is expected.;Data not yet analyzed

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The concentrations of total cholesterol, HDL-c, triacylglycerol, will be determined by the enzymatic colorimetric method using the System Vitros Chemistry 950 Xrl (Johnson & Johnson) automatic analyzer. The concentration of LDL-c will be calculated according to Friedewald's formula, for triacylglycerol values up to 400mg / dL, where LDL = CT-HDL-TG / 5 (FRIEDEWALD, LEVY, FREDERICKSON, 1972). As reference values for the lipid profile will be used those proposed by the IV Brazilian Directive on Dyslipidemias and Prevention of Atherosclerosis Department of Atherosclerosis of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology (2007). A reduction in total and LDL cholesterol concentrations in the supplemented group is expected.
