Interventions

Experimental group: 15 elderly will participate in a dual-task training program using Immersive Virtual Reality, performed through the Oculus Rift. Control group: 15 elderly people will participate in
gait training with obstacle avoidance – cones (the elderly person must walk between obstacles and add the numbers present during the course)
Cognitive TUG (ask participants to simultaneously perform the TUG and associate the action of withdrawing coins and banknotes from one pocket, counting and transferring them to another pocket)
walking over obstacles (the elderly person walks a path where they must overcome obstacles, in addition to recognizing the figures of animals placed next to each one)
cognitive agility with the functional ladder (the participant enters a demarcated area, pronounces the name of an object with the letter indicated in the place, leaves and goes to the next one, repeat
walk in a straight line balacing a ball

Eligibility

Age
60 Years to 79 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Seniors; Age between 60 and 79 years; both sexes; with cognitive modifications on the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Inability to understand simple verbal commands; severe visual impairment or not compensated with the use of corrective lenses; serious auditory implications; who have completed any cognitive training program in the past six months

MeasureTime frame
It is expected the improvement of the cognitive functions evaluated by the Montreal cognitive assessment test, at the end of the 16 sessions. Considering a significant improvement in the final result when compared to the initial evaluation.;It is expected to find an improvement in the cognitive abilities assessed by the Mini Mental State Examination questionnaire at the end of the 16 sessions. Considering a significant improvement in the results, they are more positive about what is evaluated in the initial questionnaire.

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find an improvement in the levels of independence for the performance of instrumental activities of daily living evaluated by the Lawton and Brody scale at the end of the 16 sessions. Taking into account positive results and significant improvements when compared to the initial.;It is expected to find an improvement in functional performance and physical fitness of the lower limbs, evaluated by the Sitting-rising test (SRT) at the end of the 16 sessions, considering a significant improvement in the final results when compared to the initial evaluation.
