Age
9 Years to 10 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Voluntary consent by signing the Free and Informed Consent Form; Female and male schoolchildren aged between 9 years and 10 years and 11 months; Presence of learning difficulties confirmed by standardised assessment procedures (lower performance of schoolchildren in tests of metalinguistic skills and reading - PROHMELE).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous participation in speech therapy, pedagogical or psycho-pedagogical intervention programs; Presence of genetic syndromes, intellectual disability and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, described in school records

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Superior performance was found both in the tests of metalinguistic skills of manipulating syllables and phonemes and in the tests that assess working memory skills as well as word and pseudoword reading tests

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
An increase in the performance of working memory capacity and manipulation was found, demonstrated by the application of the Brief Child Neuropsychological Assessment procedure
