| Expected outcome 1. Using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy analysis, we expected to identify dysregulation in salivary and plasma metabolite levels associated with obesity and periodontitis during pregnancy, particularly when obesity and periodontitis were present in combination;Identified outcome 1. Using a proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrscopy analysis, this study demonstrated a more evident difference among groups in saliva samples compared to plasma, mainly related to periodontitis, without notable differences related to obesity. Periodontal parameters were positively correlated with many saliva metabolites, for instance, it was found a dysregulation in the salivary levels of leucine, ornithine, isovaleric acid, valine, isoleucine, putrescine, taurine, phenylalanine, propionic acid, and acetic acid associated with periodontitis | — |
