55 Years to 77 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Ages from 55 years; show complete functional independence; be physically active; not perform strength training in the last six months; not have the disease: arthritis, arthritis, neuropathy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; not present cardiac arrhythmias; deep vein thrombosis; not having suffered myocardial infarction within 6 months prior to the intervention period; not reporting muscle or joint injury in the lower limbs; do not use heart pacemaker; submit ankle brachial index situated between 0.90 and 1.40; speed normal pulse wave; Normal central systolic pressure.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Do not get minimum frequency of 75% to the training sessions

Significant difference of variables: cross-sectional area measured quadriceps with computed tomography, muscle strength measured with the maximum repetition test, muscle power measured with the force platform and functional performance measured functional tests after 18 weeks of intervention .;A significant difference was observed (p 0.05); was no difference in muscle strength (p 0.05 ); there was a significant difference (p <0.05) for the functional tests: supine up with M%= - 28.70% for p BFRG and M% = - 13,20 for the TGF, the test sitting and standing of chair the M% = 36.80 for BFRG and M% = 33.83 for the TGF for the test timed up and go test the M% = - 19.47 for BFRG and M% = - 10.76 to TGF. There was no significant difference (p <0.05) in muscle power and functional testing of normal and maximum walking speed.
