Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy volunteers; both genders; age between 18 and 65 years; working regularly in the sector (Botucatu Medical School and Botucatu Institute of Biosciences); consent to participate in the research by signing the Free and Informed Consent Form; achieve minimum score of 35 points in the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory - State Subscale; olfactory odor of lavender essential oils (Lavandula angustifolia) and ylang-ylang (Canaga odorata); and declare that she is not pregnant.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Loss of follow-up of aromatherapy massage sessions.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: decreased levels of anxiety verified by the application of the Trace-State Anxiety Inventory - State Subscale (nationally validated instrument) and evidenced by the shift to a less intense level of anxiety after six aromatherapy massage sessions.

Secondary

Expected Outcomes: Decreased stress levels verified by applying the Stress Symptoms List (nationally validated instrument) evidenced by moving to a less intense stress level after six aromatherapy massage sessions. increase in the pulse saturation index verified with the aid of a pulse oximeter before and after each aromatherapy massage session. Decreased heart rate verified with the aid of pulse oximeter, before and after each session of aromatherapy massage. Decreased systolic blood pressure verified by an aneroid sphygmomanometer, before and after each session of aromatherapy massage. Decreased diastolic blood pressure verified by aneroid sphygmomanometer, before and after each session of aromatherapy massage.
