Age
18 Years to 64 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This is a convenience sample made up of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus; age between 18 to 64 years; on insulin therapy; with serum glycated hemoglobin levels higher than 7.0 percent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with other types of diabetes; institutionalized; patients with other chronic complications in advanced stages.

Expected outcome 1: To investigate the effects of an educational intervention on the knowledge of diabetes, determined by evaluating the levels of knowledge about the disease, at the beginning of the study and at the end of the study.

Expected outcome 2: To investigate the effects of educational intervention on anthropometric and lifestyle-related data, at the beginning of the study and at the end of the study.
