Age
30 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Having type I or type II DM with diabetic peripheral neuropathy; presenting sensory alterations; reporting burning pain with paresthesia in one or both lower extremities; being aged between 30 and 70 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Have foot ulcers; have serious complications of diabetes mellitus (target organ damage, diabetic ketoacidosis, hypoglycemia and chronic cardiovascular diseases); have neurological deficiencies not associated with diabetes; have thyroid dysfunction; be pregnant, have a metal implant in the body; abuse drugs; have cancer; and to use a wheelchair

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find an improvement in tactile, painful and thermal sensitivity in feet of patients with diabetes mellitus after implementing low-intensity laser therapy and intravascular laser blood irradiation, in 12 sessions over 23 days.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to observe whether the Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument is effective for neuropathic screening of patients with diabetes mellitus who require the joint applicability of low-intensity laser therapy and intravascular laser blood irradiation.
