Age
8 Years to 12 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteers with a clinical diagnosis of unilateral or bilateral posterior crossbite and/or maxillary atresia; Class I or Class II dental malocclusion; first or intertransitional period of mixed dentition; absence of extensive caries lesions and periodontal disease, good general and oral health; absence of previous orthodontic treatment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with conditions that compromise oral health at the time of the initial evaluation; with systemic diseases or general health conditions that may interfere with treatment or clinical evaluations; with a history of previous orthodontic treatment; with craniofacial anomalies, genetic syndromes, or cleft lip and palate; continuous or recent use of medications

To evaluate whether atmospheric cold plasma can be used as an alternative for managing pain associated with Rapid Maxillary Expansion. The evaluation will be performed by analyzing the Visual Analogue Scale and inflammatory mediators collected from the gingival crevicular fluid
