Conditions

Pregnant woman, lumbar pain

Interventions

Intervention group: 38 pregnant women will receive the kinesio taping bandage in the lower back, in the location of the pain referred by the pregnant woman. Control group (placebo): 38 pregnant women

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women with low back pain; between 20 and 30 gestational weeks; singleton pregnancy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pathology of the spine; urinary tract infection; pathology that limits daily activities; cognitive impairment; dermatitis or infection in the banding application site; known allergy to the material of the bandage.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Back pain before and after each application of the bandage, assessed using the short version of the McGill pain questionnaire, and observed from the mean difference / median and percentages between groups.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Need to analgesics for pain control; need for removal of labor functions; disorders related to pregnancy back pain, assessed by Oswestry Dysfunction Questionary, and observed from the mean difference / median and percentages between groups.
