Age
18 Years to 52 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects between 18 and 52 years old; derived from the Adult Trauma Service with clinical and imaging diagnosis of Subacromial Impingement Syndrome (SIS); Volunteers Accepting and signing the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with pathologies of cervical origin; proximal humeral fractures; adhesive capsulitis; calcic tendonitis; subjects who have had a history of previous shoulder surgery or treated with corticosteroid infiltration in the affected shoulder in the last 12 months

Expected result 1- It is expected to find a improve in shoulder function assessed through the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index in the participants of the specific exercise program compared to that of general exercises ;Result found 1- Patients assigned to specific exercises showed an improvement in shoulder function by the end of the fifth week to 34.5 points ( standard deviation= 7.9). The between-group difference in change provided an estimate of the effect of the Specific exercises on shoulder function was 10 points ( 95% Confidence Interval: 4.3 to 15.6; ?2 = 0.22, p = 0.001)

Expected result 2- It is expected to find a improve in upper limb function assessed through the Disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand questionnaire in the participants of the specific exercise program compared to that of general exercises;Result found 2- Patients assigned to specific exercises showed an improvement in upper limb function by the end of the fifth week to 18 points ( standard deviation= 4.8). The between-group difference in change provided an estimate of the effect of the Specific exercises on upper limb function was 10.4 points,(95% Confidence Interval: 5.6 to 15.2; ?2 = 0.27, p < 0.001);Expected result 3- It is expected to find a decrease in pain intensity (at rest and at movement) assessed through the visual analogue scale in the participants of the specific exercise program compared to that of general exercises;Result found 3-Patients assigned to specific exercises showed an decreased in pain intensity (at rest)by the end of the fifth week to 1.4 cm ( standard deviation= 0.6). The between-group difference in change provided an estimate of the effect of the Specific exercises on pain intensity was 0.2 cm, (?2 = 0.07, p = 0.553). Patients assigned to specific exercises showed an decreased in pain intensity (at movement) by the end of the fifth week to 1.8 cm ( standard deviation= 0.5). The between-group difference in change provided an estimate of the effect of the Specific exercises on pain intensity was 1.7 cm, (?2 = 0.24, p < 0.001);Expected result 4- It is expected to find a decrease in fear of movement assessed through the Tampa kinesiophobia scale in the participants of the specific exercise program compared to that of general exercises;Result found 4- Patients assigned to specific exercises showed an improvement in fear of movement by the end of the fifth week to 27.3 points ( standard deviation= 13.1). The between-group difference in change provided an estimate of the effect of the Specific exercises on fear of movement was 14.3 point
