Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women'S; between 60 and 70 years; medical statement for physical exercise; sedentary for at least 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cognitive impairment according to the Mini Mental State Examination; functional limitations in walking; the use of support devices; affirmative response regarding comorbidities

MeasureTime frame
Increased muscle strength after three months of intervention, verified by test in the isokinetic equipment at baseline and end of study;The isokinetic muscle strength changed significantly after three months of intervention group that received the Pilates sessions. No changes were observed in isokinetic muscle strength in the group that did stretching sessions

Increased postural balance, quality of life and flexibility after three months of intervention, verified by testing at baseline and end of study;The postural balance, quality of life and flexibility have changed significantly after three months of intervention group that received the Pilates sessions.
