Physical Functional Performance

Interventions

The study will be a two-arm, randomized clinical trial. Experimental group: 30 elderly will undergo 4 weeks of minimal dose resistance training, performed twice a week. Control group: 30 elderly peopl
otherwise, the participant will be considered non-responsive.

60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be at least 60 years old; feminine gender; present negativity in the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Male gender; volunteers who have completed Resistance Training in the previous year; present an acute or chronic condition that may compromise the execution of tests and protocols; have not completed the assessments; have not completed 8 training sessions within 6 weeks; have suffered any adverse event (injury, illness, disability...) during the training period

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find a greater Responsiveness of Muscle Strength in the participants who will perform the minimum dose protocol, which will be evaluated by the standard error of the measure

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find an increase in the Physical Functional Performance of participants with greater gains in muscle strength, which will be evaluated by repeated measures ANOVA
