Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate gain of muscle and bone mass. The body composition (lean mass, fat mass and bone mass) will be measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Prevalence of sarcopenia (SARC-F) Changes in quality of life (SF-36) Renal Function- Glomerular Filtration Rate: The calculation will be done through the formula of Cockcroft-Gault creatinine clearance = [(140 - age) x weight] / serum creatinine x 72 (x 0.85 for women). Changes in nutritional status using classification of Mini Nutritional Assessment - (Mini Man®) for older adults Changes in biochemical tests: Glucose, creatinine, urea, calcium, vitamin D Presence of dysphagia - Dysphagia Risk Assessment Protocol (PARD)
