Eligibility

Age
50 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy volunteers; both genders; age between 50 and 70 years; total edentulism of mandible and maxilla for at least one year; bone height less than 25 mm and 16 mm in the mandibular symphysis region and mental foramen, respectively.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with a history of alcohol or drug abuse; temporomandibular disorders; maxillary or mandibular hyperplasias or exostoses; Diagnoses of uncontrolled cardiac or psychiatric conditions; unable to attend the return visits.

Statistically significant differences of at least 5% in the masticatory performance evaluated by the method of sieves in patients using complete denture with bilateral balanced occlusion or canine guidance after a period of 30 days of use.;Observation of difference of at least 5% in satisfaction scores measured by means of a questionnaire in complete denture wearers with bilateral balanced occlusion or canine guidance, after a period of 30 days of use of the prosthesis.;Observation of difference of at least 5% in Oral related quality of life scores measured by means of a OHIP-EDENT questionnaire in complete denture wearers with bilateral balanced occlusion or canine guidance, after a period of 30 days of use of the prosthesis.
