Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be 18 years of age or older; Be a patient diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancer who is undergoing chemotherapy up to the third session or who is also undergoing radiotherapy and neoadjuvant surgery; Be a patient with preserved hearing acuity (negative whisper test).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients using anxiolytic medication; Those who have difficulty understanding the questions; Patients who are unable to maintain a dialogue with the researcher.

To evaluate the effect of music on State-Trait Anxiety and physiological parameters, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation in patients with gastrointestinal cancer undergoing chemotherapy before and after intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Characterize study participants according to sociodemographic and clinical characteristics.;To characterize the psychological and physical symptoms of study participants according to the Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale (ESAS).;Compare anxiety scores between the experimental and control groups, according to the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI).;Compare the physiological parameters (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation) between the experimental and control groups.;Compare State-Trait Anxiety scores, blood pressure values, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation within each of the experimental and control groups (intragroup analysis).;Compare the effects of music between the experimental and control groups, according to State-Trait Anxiety scores and physiological changes.
