18 Years to 78 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Parents or legal guardians of children receiving care at the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR); of both sexes; aged between 18 and 78 years; living with the child; who agree to participate in the study by signing the Informed Consent Form (ICF)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Parents or legal guardians with cognitive impairments that compromise their understanding of the research instruments; parents or legal guardians who are not fluent in Portuguese

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the ability of parents or guardians to identify signs of dental caries in clinical photographs of deciduous or mixed dentition; verified through the evaluation of standardized images; an increase in the proportion of correct identifications will be observed after the intervention and its maintenance at the time of retention

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the knowledge of parents or guardians regarding children's oral health and prevention of dental caries; verified through a structured questionnaire based on the content of the educational booklet; an increase in correct answers will be observed after the intervention and its maintenance at the time of retention;Assess the oral health literacy of parents or guardians; verified using the OHL-AQ instrument; an increase in scores will be observed after the intervention and its maintenance at the time of retention;Evaluate the perceived abilities of parents or guardians to perform at-home oral examinations and prevent dental caries; verified using a Likert-type scale; an increase in reported confidence levels after the intervention and its maintenance at the time of retention will be observed.;4. Evaluate the attitudes of parents or guardians regarding children's oral health and prevention of dental caries; verified through a structured questionnaire based on the content of the educational booklet; an increase in scores after the intervention and its maintenance at the time of retention will be observed
