Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To investigate, in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) undergoing a conventional pulmonary rehabilitation protocol for 12 weeks, the possible additional effects of low-intensity whole-body mechanical vibration on several health parameters, compared to a control group undergoing only the conventional protocol. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Investigate possible changes in the musculoskeletal system through body composition, neuromuscular function parameters and blood biomarkers of bone and muscle metabolism;Assess possible changes in cardiorespiratory function and biochemical markers of inflammation; To assess changes in bone structure through high-resolution peripheral computed microtomography (HRpQCT) analysis; To examine the effects of vibration on patients' activities of daily living, quality of life and cognitive function; To analyze changes in peripheral blood perfusion of patients induced by the effects of vibration through thermography | — |
