This is a randomized controlled trial, with crossover design, in which 20 older adults will undergo three experimental conditions, once a week, for 30 minutes. Experimental conditions will consist of

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Older adults (= 60 years old); both sexes; literate; living in the metropolitan area of Campinas-SP; use smartphone to access social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Older adults with cognitive impairment; physical dependence in activities of daily living

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the perception of mental fatigue before and after experimental interventions. It is expected to find increased perceived mental fatigue after browsing social media and after watching videos with intense emotions. Using a Visual Analog Scale, participants will move the mouse cursor towards the ends of the scale, which will have the indications "not at all mentally fatigued" and "very mentally fatigued". Below the scale, there will be the following phrase: "mental fatigue involves feeling tired and lacking energy, and can reduce mental performance. To answer, participants will not have access to the score, which will be generated only after the test is completed. The scale ranges from 0 to 100, with mental fatigue being directly proportional to the score.;To evaluate executive functions before and after the experimental interventions. Cognitive performance is expected to be reduced after browsing social media and after watching videos with intense emotions. Using the Stroop test, participant will view yellow, blue, green, and red words painted in congruent (e.g., blue painted on blue) and incongruent (e.g., blue painted on green) colors. Four color keys will be provided for the volunteer to respond to the color of the word projected on a 15-inch monitor, 1920x1080 pixels resolution, Arial font, size 30. During the test, 100 trials will be played in random order, in which the older person must decide in 3,000 milliseconds, otherwise an error message (500 milliseconds) will be emitted followed by a "+" symbol (200 milliseconds with 100 milliseconds delay). At the end of the test, the number of errors and successes, the average response time, and the Stroop effect (time congruent - time incongruent) will be provided.;To evaluate performance in a task of daily living with physical and cognitive demand. To evaluate motivation by means of a simple question. Motivation is expected to mediate the association between mental fatigue and performance on daily living task. Immediately after the task, the older person should answer the question "How motivated were you to do well on the task?" on a scale of 1 (not at all motivated) to 7 (very motivated).
