| Participants with major depressive disorder or treatment-resistant depression are expected to be identified through consultation of the multidisciplinary team's medical records, analysis of medical histories recorded by the multidisciplinary team, data collection, and review of pharmacotherapy. Furthermore, screening criteria will include physician reports, lack of response to treatment after at least two trials of antidepressants at appropriate doses and durations, concomitant use of lithium carbonate, thyroid hormones, antipsychotics, and indication for electroconvulsive therapy. The prevalence of major depressive disorder will be calculated by the ratio of the number of individuals with this diagnosis to the total number of individuals treated at the health service. The prevalence of treatment-resistant depression will be estimated by the ratio of the number of individuals with this diagnosis to the total number of individuals treated at the health service | — |

| We hope to identify factors potentially associated with the development of major depressive disorder and treatment-resistant depression through logistic regression models considering the outcome as a dichotomous dependent variable. Initially, a bivariate analysis will be performed between each independent variable and the corresponding outcome, estimating crude odds ratios (ORs). Variables with p = 0.20 in the bivariate analysis will be included in the multivariate model to calculate adjusted ORs and their respective 95% confidence intervals. The significance level will be set at p < 0.05 | — |
