Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| It is expected to find, with supplementation of Yohimbine and Pinus pinaster, an improvement in muscle strength through the one-repetition maximum test (in the exercises: bench press and biceps curl), blood biomarkers of muscle damage such as total creatine phosphokinase, lactate dehydrogenase, C-reactive protein, and capillary lactate. An improvement in cardiorespiratory fitness is also expected, analyzed by the calculation of maximal oxygen consumption through a submaximal treadmill running test | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| As secondary outcomes, we expect to find a reduction in resting blood pressure, which will be measured by sphygmomanometer, resting heart rate, measured by smartwatch, and the subjective perception of effort during submaximal exercise. We will also evaluate body composition parameters through skinfold measurements to analyze whether there were any changes in body fat percentage and muscle mass of the participants | — |
