Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participation of this study patients with medical indication for physical therapy; being in the chronic phase of the PFP with a minimum of 3 months after the injury; of different etiologies; presenting facial muscle dysfunction from Grade II to VI according to the House-Brackmann scale and who agree to be part of the independent study of the therapeutic resource that will be used.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with a diagnosis of PF presenting grade I dysfunction according to the House-Brackmann scale will be excluded from the present study; which are in the initial phase of the disease and have hypersensitivity to phototherapy; skin irritation; eye problems; bacterial processes. Also excluded are patients with bilateral facial involvement and lesions or coarse facial features that may interfere with electrode contact and laser irradiation; with lack of understanding and who are performing other facial treatments simultaneously.

| 597/5000 With the accomplishment of this study it is expected that Biofeeback by electromyography and Low Power Light Therapy can promote improvement of physical function and social well-being verified through the Facial Impairment Index (IIF), a self-evaluation tool (FF) and social welfare (FBS) using a 100-point scale with higher scores indicating less impairment of functions, with questions from one to ten divided into two parts. The first refers to physical function with questions 1-5 and the second with questions 6-10 relating to social well-being;Com a realização deste estudo espera-se que o Biofeedback por eletromiografia e a Terapia de luz de baixa potência possam promover melhor ação dos músculos frontal, zigomático maior e risório através de registros fotográficos processados no programa Image J. A máquina digital Kodak Easy Share C713 com resolução de 7,0 megapixels (MP), display LCD 2,4 pol. (6,1 cm), zoom óptico 3x, estabilizador digital de imagem, fará o registro das imagens faciais na posição de frente. A máquina será posicionada em um pedestal a uma distância 80 cm entre a lente e o paciente. Os pacientes serão orientados a olhar para frente, ficar na posição ortostática com a cabeça estabilizada por um colete cervical. As imagens serão registradas inicialmente em repouso, e depois será solicitado pelo terapeuta que cada paciente faça contração máxima da elevação do supercílio, fechamento dos olhos, do sorriso mostrando os dentes, do sorriso sem mostrar os dentes e protusão labial em uma única tentativa de movimento. As imagens serão feitas antes do tratamento, ao final dos 16 atendimentos e após um mês sem tratamento seguindo a padronização do posicionamento dos pacientes frente à lente em cada avaliação. As imagens faciais dos pacientes estudados serão transferidas para um computador e processadas no programa Image J.
