Age
6 Years to 12 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of Down's Syndrome; Ability to understand and collaborate to carry out the procedures involved in the study; Age between six and twelve years; Complaints of impaired motor coordination of upper limbs; Responsible for their participation in the study by signing the Informed Consent Form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Have undergone surgical procedures in the last 12 months prior to the start of the training sessions; Have structured orthopedic deformities in the upper limbs or spine with surgical indications; Carriers of epilepsy; Have a metal implant in the brain or hearing aids; Associated neurological pathology; Pacemaker.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of motor control (spatiotemporal parameters and kinematics of upper limb range movement), and functional independence of children with Down's Syndrome, measured by the three-dimensional evaluation of upper limb movements to be performed after 10 sessions of transcranial current stimulation In the primary motor cortex associated with virtual reality training.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Determine possible correlations between upper limb motor control (movement velocity and total duration of movement) and muscle activity (elbow flexors and extensors), cerebral activity (activity of the parietal lobe, specifically regions C3 and C4) and functional independence with regard to self-care and Identify possible prediction factors for the response of upper limb motor control (movement velocity and total duration of movement) in children with Down syndrome. The following factors will be investigated: muscle activity of elbow flexors and extensors, cerebral activity (areas C3 and C4 of the 10-20 electroencephalogram system) and transcranial direct current stimulation (active and sham).
