Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy and physically active men; age between 18 and 30 years; non-smokers; no history of cardiovascular or musculoskeletal diseases; not using any medication or ergogenic substances

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who do not meet the inclusion criteria; are unable to perform the jump protocol or withdraw from the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1: The primary expected outcome of the study is peak anaerobic power during the first 4 jumps, assessed through the repeated jump test. This parameter was used to calculate the sample size and is considered the most relevant for determining the effects of guaraná supplementation (5 mg/kg of caffeine)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Outcome found: As secondary outcomes, additional improvements in anaerobic fitness parameters were observed, including maximum jump height and average jump height, which showed significant increases compared to the placebo group, as well as peak power during the first 4 jumps, further supporting the positive effects of guaraná supplementation (5 mg/kg of caffeine) on anaerobic performance.
