The Clinical Trial will consist of a case group with the Copaiba oil-based emulsion (Copaifera multijuga Hayne) and a control group (2% chlorhexidine digluconate emulsion). Case group: 52 participants

Age
7 Years to 11 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The participant must present deciduous molar teeth with up to 1/3 of root resorption affected by a shallow or medium occlusive-proximal caries lesion with surrounding enamel throughout; do not present dental malformation and spontaneous pain in the teeth. Do not have systemic disease, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients will be excluded if there is a fistula or edema in the intra or extra-oral region, radiolucency in the furcation region of the tooth, or if the successor tooth of the deciduous tooth is missing.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that when analyzing the quality of the hybrid layer on the dentin surface using the Copaíba oil-based emulsion, it will be shown to be equal or better when compared to chlorhexidine digluconate through scanning electron microscopy and histomorphometry.

Secondary

Secondary outcomes are not expected.
