Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Female subjects; aged between 18 and 30 years old; belonging to the university community; who agreed to participate in the study; were previously enrolled in a Free and Informed Consent Term.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of pain or signs characteristic of musculoskeletal dysfunction in the lower limbs and vertebral column; history of surgery and or orthopedic dysfunction in the lower limbs in the last year; presence of cardiovascular or respiratory disease that impeded the performance of the study motions; presence of systemic or vestibular disease that affected the balance; presence of peripheral or central metabolic or neurological disease and; history of allergic reaction to the application of elastic bandages.

The use of functional bandage by Dynamic Tape ™ applied to volunteers as recommended by the manufacturer alters the activation of the gluteus medius muscle when compared to the groups: bandage, placebo and control, verified by surface electromyography from the observation of a variation of at least 5 % between the measurements performed between the groups in the pre and post intervention moments.;The use of functional bandage by Dynamic Tape ™ applied to volunteers according to the manufacturer's recommendation did not increase the activation of the gluteus medius muscle when compared to the groups: bandage, placebo and control, verified by surface electromyography, since no variation was observed during the rest (p = 0.09), squatting (0.31), landing (p = 0.52) and jump (p = 0.73) in the measurements performed between the groups at the pre and post intervention moments.

The use of functional bandage by Dynamic Tape ™ applied to volunteers as recommended by the manufacturer alters the functional performance of the shuttle run, triple hop test and six-meter timed hop test in the comparisons between the groups: bandage, placebo and control from the observed at least 5% in the measurements performed at the pre- and post-intervention moments.;The use of functional bandage by Dynamic Tape ™ applied to volunteers as recommended by the manufacturer was not able to immediately change the functional performance measured by shuttle run tests (p = 0.29), triple hop test (p = 0.27), and six -meter timed hop test (p = 0.29) when compared to the groups: bandage, placebo and control from the observation of a variation of at least 5% in the pre and post intervention measurements. In the isolated analysis between the control and banding groups for the shuttle run test, mean values of the control group were observed to increase (p = 0.02).
