Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal to participate in the study; inability to understand or respond to the questionnaires used in the study; allergy or contraindication to the local anesthetics used in the study; infection at the block puncture site; coagulation disorders or use of anticoagulants contraindicating regional anesthesia; pregnancy; urgent or emergency surgery; requirement for unplanned modification of the anesthetic or surgical technique during the procedure

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of postoperative recovery quality using the 15-item Quality of Recovery Questionnaire during the first 24 hours after elective total thyroidectomy, comparing patients receiving ultrasound-guided bilateral superficial cervical plexus block with patients receiving conventional local anesthetic infiltration at the surgical site. Secondary outcomes: Assessment of postoperative pain intensity using the Visual Analog Scale during the first 24 hours after surgery; assessment of rescue opioid requirements during the immediate postoperative period; assessment of the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting; assessment of complications related to regional anesthesia and general anesthesia; assessment of length of stay in the post-anesthesia care unit

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of postoperative pain intensity using the Visual Analog Scale during the first 24 hours after surgery; assessment of rescue opioid requirements during the immediate postoperative period; assessment of the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting; assessment of complications related to regional anesthesia and general anesthesia; assessment of length of stay in the post-anesthesia care unit
