The eccentric training program of knee extensors in the extensor chair will be performed by the experimental groups: ECC (eccentric), and ECC + NMES (eccentric + electrical neuro muscular stimulation)

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Undergraduate and graduate students; healthy; aged between 18 and 35 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with the presence of any health condition that contraindicates or impairs the performance of high intensity exercises; history of knee surgery; a recent picture of musculoskeletal injuries in the lower limbs; subjects engaged in systematic training programs during the collection period; subjects engaged in lower limb strength training programs within 3 months prior to the study; users of ergogenic supplements.

Expected outcome 1 Isometric, concentric and eccentric torque production capacity greater than 20 newtons, for knee extensor muscles measured using a Bokorox System 4 isokinetic dynamometer after 6 weeks of training. It was expected that the eccentric training group associated with neuromuscular electrical stimulation obtained results superior to the isolated eccentric training group and control group.;Result Found 1 The isometric, concentric and eccentric torque production capacity was greater than 20 newtons in the groups that performed eccentric training and electrical stimulation associated with the eccentric training, p 0.05.

Expected outcome 1 Increase of 15 centimeters in the evaluation of the functional performance of the unipodal jump measured after the 6 weeks of training.The distance between the starting point and the tip of the individual's foot was measured after landing. It was expected that the eccentric training group associated with neuromuscular electrical stimulation obtained results superior to the isolated eccentric training group and control group. ;Result Found 1 We found similarity between the three groups, p> 0.05 for the three groups of the research, evidencing that there was no statistically significant difference in the functional performance of the unipodal jump measured after 6 weeks of training.;Expected outcome 2 Increase of 10 cm in the architecture relative to the muscle thickness of knee extensor muscles measured after 6 weeks of training. It was expected that the eccentric training group associated with neuromuscular electrical stimulation obtained results superior to the isolated eccentric training group and control group.;Result Found 2 The muscular architecture evaluation was measured by ultrasound images obtained with the GE Vivid i equipment. Muscle architecture relative to muscle thickness of knee extensor muscles was greater than 10 centimeters in the groups performing eccentric training and electrical stimulation associated with eccentric training, p 0.05.
