Age
No minimum to 12 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The study will include individuals of both sexes, under 12 years of age, who are hospitalized at the UFPel Teaching Hospital and diagnosed with some type of acute respiratory infection

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who have undergone any recent thoracic or abdominal surgery, or who have contraindications to the proposed technique due to any other relevant clinical factors, such as rib fractures, severe cardiovascular disease, acute asthma exacerbation, and elevated intracranial pressure, will be excluded from the study

Diaphragmatic excursion and thickness measured from pre-and post-intervention lung ultrasound

MeasureTime frame
Pain perception measured using the pain assessment scale (FLAAC), respiratory discomfort measured using the Modified Wood Clinical Asthma Score (M-WCAS), peripheral oxygen saturation and heart rate measured using a multiparameter monitor, respiratory rate measured using a wall clock, and lung auscultation using a stethoscope
