Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 40 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: At least canines with A2 or darker color and six superior anterior teeth free of restorations on the palatine and vestibular faces, healthy enamel and without pathological, physiological and drug alterations.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with systemic diseases (metabolic, heart disease and immunological), oral condition with periodontal diseases. with orthodontic appliance, severe crowding, presence of intrinsic stains, using anti-inflammatory drugs, smokers, alcoholics, pregnant women or lactating women. Patients who reported strong or very strong sensitivity (scores from 3 to 4) of the 5-point Numerical Scale (NRS: 0 - no sensitivity, 1 - mild, 2 - moderate, 3 - strong and 4 - very strong) were also excluded.

Design outcomes

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Effectiveness of office tooth whitening at different times of color evaluation maintained in the 2 research groups.;The results showed no statistically significant difference in relation to the color variation between the groups.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The photobiomodulation protocol with a wavelength of 808 nm and a focal size of 0.028 cm², with a therapeutic dose activated at 0.10W power for 25 seconds at each point (50 seconds per tooth), with 2.5 J per energy point and 90 J / cm2 per point (180 J / cm2 per tooth), applied immediately and 24h after tooth whitening, did not decrease the intensity of tooth sensitivity after office tooth whitening.;Decreased intensity of tooth sensitivity after tooth whitening after photobiomodulation at different times of application, immediately and 24 hours after tooth whitening.
