Interventions

The present study was conducted as a crossover, double blind, randomized and controlled by placebo trial. The participants were submitted to a familiarization session which consisted in an 1RM test in
1 minute interval between repetitions
2 minute interval between exercises). After randomization, participants were invited to engage in another 2 sessions, one preceded by the ingestion of nitrate (beetroot juice) and another preceded by

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
One hopes to find significant mean difference on the number of repetitions through 6 sets at 80% of 1RM, for bench and leg press, between placebo and supplemented conditions. This will be assessed through multiples sets test

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
One hopes to find significant mean difference on power, for bench and leg press, through 6 sets at 80% of 1RM, between placebo and supplemented conditions. This will be assessed through multiples sets test and the use of an encoder to assess movement velocity
