Liver Cirrhosis, muscle strength, hypertrophy

Interventions

30 participants will be randomly distributed in a counterbalanced way between two groups: 1) 15 participants (n = 15) to the resistance training with blood-flow restriction group(BFR-RT)
and 2) 15 participants (n = 15) to the control group (CTRL). Assessments will be carried out in two different time points: before the training intervention (0W) and after twelve weeks (12W). The follo

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Liver cirrhosis confirmed through histopathological assessment, hepatic elastography, or clinical, radiological or endoscopic criteria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Active alcohol intake in the previous 6 month; MELD score above 15; Child-Pugh class C; decompensated chronic diseases; diabetes mellitus; hepatocellular carcinoma or other neoplasms; previous liver transplantation; severe ascites; persistent hepatic encephalopathy; clotting disorders characterized by INR superior to 1.5 or platelets inferior to 75,000; medical contraindication exercise
