Twenty-four adults with vertical maxillary excess will be randomly divided into 2 groups. Group 1: maxillary total intrusion without microperforations. Grup 2: maxillary total intrusion with micrope

18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults with vertical maxillary excess. Anterior and posterior gummy smile more than 3mm. Clinical crown of the upper central incisors in 9-11mm. Angle Class I and II malocclusion. No passive lip closure at rest.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cases of gingival hyperplasia, short clinical crown; presence of systemic diseases; presence of congenital deformity; loss of permanent teeth or agenesis.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate in 1 year the amount of dental intrusion using cone beam computed tomography superimposition

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected to find facial and skeletal changes, changes in the alveolar bone and root morphology resulting from intrusive movement. ;Assessment of the impact of pain, oral health and quality of life using questionnaires
