Age
3 Years to 8 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged three to eight years old; of both sexes; treated at the pediatric dentistry clinic of the Federal University of Piauí - UFPI who have deciduous molars with extensive carious lesions on occlusoproximal surfaces, without pulp involvement; the teeth must have sufficient remaining structure for adaptation of a stainless steel crown or orthodontic band

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Molars with mobility, pain or symptoms of pulp pathology; gingival inflammation caused by poor oral hygiene

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the clinical success of restorations performed with steel crowns and orthodontic bands in primary molars with extensive coronal destruction, and to observe whether restorations with orthodontic bands can be a viable alternative for restorative treatment of severely compromised primary molars
