Eligibility

Age
45 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Voluntary patients above 55 years; both sexes; patients with osteoarthrosis primary

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with inflammatory joint disease; patients with a history of previous knee surgery and failure to undergo imaging.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: Increase of internal rotation above 10º of the tibial component in the group of patients where the retropatellar fat was kept (experimental) compared to the group where the retropatellar fat was removed (control), assessed by means of computed tomography, with reference to the medial third of the anterior tibial tuberosity, from the finding of a variation of at least 7% between the groups.;Outcome found: There was a greater internal rotation of the tibial component in patients in the 2.1 ° experimental group, but without statistical difference in relation to the control group.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: Increase of 8 minutes or more in the surgical time in patients undergoing maintenance of retropatellar fat compared to patients in whom this structure was completely removed, verified by timing from the opening of the joint cavity to its complete closure, from the finding of a variation of at least 5 minutes between groups.;Outcome found: Increase in surgical time by 12 minutes in patients with maintenance of retropatellar fat compared to patients with removal of this structure
