Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with fibromyalgia evaluated according to the classification criteria of the American College of Rheumatology; female; aged between 18 and 60 years; sedentary; no cardiovascular diseases.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neurological and rheumatic diseases associated with FM; any other characteristic that maintenance of electro-stimulation; current intolerance; electrode allergy; any skin contact material; presence of pacemaker; pregnancy; other absolute indication.

MeasureTime frame
The HRV of the experimental group is expected to be improved, with a change in the time of the RR intervals captured by the ECG, showing greater autonomic response to cardiovascular demands, as well as increased sympatho-vagal interaction. This fact will show a reduction in activity sympathetic, which will allow a greater reflex response to metabolic demand, such as orthostasis, evaluated through TEOA.

In addition to modulation of HRV, it is estimated that by means of infrared thermography, there is an increase in peripheral vasodilation at the stimulation, which will indicate reduction of sympathetic expression, a consequence of the decrease in levels of endogenous catecholamines in the current blood supply. In addition, it is desired to observe changes in systemic thermoregulation caused by electrostimulation, focusing on the vascular alterations, which will allow to bring to the literature greater elucidations about the mechanism of action of TENS on the ANS.
