Age
60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Older individuals who have been sedentary for at least 3 months; both genders; over 60 years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who present any pathology that alters gait; evidence of coronary disease; heart disease; congestive heart failure; uncontrolled hypertension; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; diabetes mellitus; renal failure; major orthopedic disability and smokers.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that morphological adaptations will be found in the vastus lateralis muscle, as measured by blood antioxidant biomarkers, after a 16-week period of resistance training. This will be verified through ultrasound and plasma analysis, based on a variation of at least 5% in pre- and post-intervention measurements.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that group training with resistance training will improve strength, balance, and functional autonomy.
