Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria for the research will be obese subjects with any of the three different degrees of obesity (body mass index-BMI above 30kg/m2); normal weight individuals and individuals with a previous clinical diagnosis of lung disease (obstructive pulmonary disease and/or restrictive disease) of both genders; aged 18 years or over; active or sedentary; with no change in the locomotor system and/or change in balance detected in an initial examination carried out in a routine evaluation from June to December 2021 at the Clinic Clinic
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Subjects who may have had their data analyzed/evaluated in a database and incorrectly tabulated in an Excel spreadsheet; who have gaps in the tabulation of anthropometric variables and/or cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) and electromyography (EMG) variables; who had a test of cardiopulmonary effort with less than the recommended time for data evaluation (time less than 8 minutes) or those with signal failure of the EMG tracing during the test
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| It is expected to elucidate the feasibility of electromyographic measurement during Cardiopulmonary Stress Test (CPET) in obese and pulmonary patients, through cardiopulmonary test and electromyography | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| It is expected to find measures of functional performance such as maximal oxygen consumption and lower electromyographic measurements in the obese and lung disease groups compared to the healthy group and similar performance measures between the obese and lung disease groups. | — |
