Eligibility

Age
60 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Have medical release for practice; Volunteers of both sexes; Participate in all selection processes prior to the study; Have at least 6 months experience with strength training; Age greater than 18 years;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: blood pressure above 160/100 mmHg; History of anemia, cerebrovascular disease, acute myocardial infarction, orthopedic disorders that impede joint movement; Deep venous thrombosis and cognitive dysfunction.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of maximal peak muscle isokinetic torque levels assessed by dynamometer;Reduction of general body lipid evaluated by bioimepedance and venous blood.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Increased rates of maximal strength production after 16 weeks of intervention for groups submitted to occlusion and traditional training;Reduction in the percentage of body fat and resting blood lipids after 16 weeks of intervention for the groups submitted to training with traditional occlusion
