Age
18 Years to 25 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be a regular student of the medical course at the University of Southern Santa Catarina UNISUL; of both sexes; be between 18 and 25 years old

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Failure to sign the Free and Informed Consent Form FICF; have a history of or present epileptic episodes; use psychiatric medication; be pregnant or breastfeeding; be an oncology patient

It is expected to find improvement in inhibitory control after the transcranial photobiomodulation intervention, verified using the Stroop Test Victoria Version, based on the comparison of reading times of three cards with 24 items each before and after the intervention, with improvement being defined as a reduction in total reading time, especially on the third card which evaluates cognitive interference

It is expected to find improvement in attentional processes after the transcranial photobiomodulation intervention, verified using the Trail Making Test Parts A and B, based on the comparison of execution times for parts A and B before and after the intervention, with improvement being defined as a reduction in total execution time, especially in part B which requires greater executive function demands;It is expected to find improvement in short-term and working memory after the transcranial photobiomodulation intervention, verified using the Digit Span subscale of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – WAIS III, with improvement defined as an increase in the total number of correctly recalled digit sequences in both forward and backward order, with a maximum possible score of 32 points ;It is expected to find improvement in controlled attention, inhibition of automatic responses, and cognitive flexibility after the transcranial photobiomodulation intervention, verified through the application of the neuropsychological Five Digit Test, with improvement defined as a reduction in execution time in the Choice and Alternation phases compared to pre-intervention performance
