Age
4 Years to 14 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals with medical diagnosis of Down Syndrome; In the age group from 4 to 14 years of age; Linked to the local study center; Have in the dental arch 1 tooth or more in each sextant.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with systemic alterations or psychological condition that make participation in the study impracticable.

Based on previous studies carried out on the subject of the study, it is observed that the use of automatic brush is able to reduce by more than 60% the amount of biofilm, as is the biofilm index of Quigley-Hein modified by Turesky, in relation to the use of manual brush, in a period of 7 days.;The automatic brush was able to reduce the amount of pre and post-intervention biofilm by 30% on average by evaluating the Tiglesky-modified Quigley-Hein biofilm index in relation to the use of a hand brush in a period of 7 days.

With the possibility that the use of different devices for oral hygiene procedures alter the behavior observed during brushing, a positive behavioral change is expected when using automatic brush in relation to the hand brush in the period of 7 days, verified through the dichotomization of the criteria established in the Frankl Behavioral Scale.;The behaviors observed during brushing with an automatic brush were similar in relation to the use of a hand brush in the period of 7 days, verified through the dichotomization of the criteria established in the Behavior Scale of Frankl.
