Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women with 18 years of age or older with MAP myofascial dysfunction, diagnosed for pain and or discomfort during vaginal digital palpation of the pelvic floor.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women with Urinary Tract Infection or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease at the time of study inclusion; Women with previous pelvic radiotherapy or brachytherapy; Women with a history of cervical or endometrial cancer; Pregnant women; Women who have any other medical contraindication for intravaginal access; Women who make use of analgesic, narcotic and muscle relaxant medications; Homoaffective women.

At the end of the treatment period, it is expected that the association of manual therapy, which is currently recommended in the literature as a treatment of myofascial dysfunction associated with photobiomodulation, which presents promising possibilities in improving myofascial pain, is shown to be a more effective therapeutic option for the treatment of myofascial pain in muscles of the pelvic floor. It is expected that the pain score, by the Visual Analog Pain Scale, the palpation of the pelvic floor muscles will significantly decrease or cease in the group submitted to Photobiomodulation.

At the end of the treatment period, it is expected that women undergoing photobiomodulation are expected to improve more of dyspareunia, constipation and urinary symptoms, as observed through the results of the Female Sexual Function Index, International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire - Short Form, International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire - Overactive Bladder, and by means of the criteria of Rome III.
