Curcumin with 12 patients (dry extract standardized to> 94% curcuminoids, 1g / day, administration in capsules orally, duration of 12 weeks)
turmeric with 13 patients (3g / day, oral capsule administration, duration of 12 weeks)
turmeric with piperine with 13 patients (3g of saffron and 4mg of piperine / day, administration in capsules orally, duration of 12 weeks)
placebo with 13 patients (corn starch, 3g / day, oral capsule administration, duration of 12 weeks).

Age
20 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of both sexes, from 20 to 70 years old, under treatment of HD> three months with access by arteriovenous fistula.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant women; nursing mothers; amputees; patients who report allergy or intolerance to curcuma ou piper nigrum; or present: infectious process; chronic liver disease; sepsis; intestinal malabsorption; cancer; Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome; patients with difficulty swallowing; recent hospitalization (<3 months); decompensated diabetes; those who are consuming vitamin supplement or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Effect of curcumin, turmeric and turmeric with piperine supplementation in the following parameters: CRP, TNF-alpha, interleukin 6, erythroid nuclear factor 2 (NRf2), ferritin, anti-oxidant enzymes, malondialdehyde, iron reduction power, serum concentrations of advanced glycation products.
