21 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male; age minimun 21 years; definitive diagnosis of prostate cancer determined by prostatic biopsy, performed preferably guided by transrectal ultrasonography; no professional dental prophylaxis performed in the last 3 months; minimun 06 teeth present; able and willing to understand the protocol and sign a consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Positive history of periodontal treatment in the last six months; diabetes; history of myocardial infarction, stroke, or organ transplantation during the last 6 months; the need for antibiotic prophylaxis to perform routine dental procedures; use of anti-inflammatories for a long period of time, or any medicine that may interfere with periodontal aspects; smoking; patients who were unable to attend the appointments

The outcome will be the effect of the basic periodontal therapy of scaling and root planing (rar) on the levels of psa (prostate specific antigen, the psa will be evaluated through intravenous puncture blood collection performed at two moments, the first moment before scraping treatment and the second moment after 30 (thirty) days of scraping

MeasureTime frame
The end point will be the effect of the basic periodontal therapy of scaling and root planing (rar) on the levels of pcr (C-reactive protein), the pcr will be evaluated through intravenous puncture blood collection performed at two moments, being the first moment before the scraping treatment and the second time after 30 (thirty) days of scraping
